The HydroPro System

The Chemistry of the System
When water is introduced into the "HYDROPRO Reactor" it alters the structure of the water, producing hydroxyl ion enriched water that has many of the characteristics of water treated with a surfactant.
Becoming a carrier of the oxidizer, it penetrates a solid matrix more efficiently than would untreated water. Upon introduction to a slurry, the suspended contaminant particles in the sediments become charged and agglomerate and settle out or, in the case of oils, rise to the surface.
Saving Time and Money
With on site laboratory, it takes only 2 hours to get soil test results.
We document every sample as it is moved inside. To screen the soil, a syringe extracts some of the sample’s gas and injects it into a gas chromatograph. This allows us to make field decisions in real time.
Two Competitors to the HydroPro System:
Thermal Remediation
- Poisonous vapors are released into the atmosphere as a result of the very high temperature that the soil gets heated to
- The most expensive of the three methods
- Maximum Remediation Capability does not exceed 1000 tons/day
- Remediation is normally done in an ex-situ set-up which requires additional time and cost for trucking/transporting the soil from the contaminated site to the remediation plant and back
Bio Remediation
- Lower cost than Thermal Remediation
- No Poisonous vapors released
- Requires much longer than thermal remediation to remediate any amount
- Can only remediate low contamination level soils (normally less than 25,000 PPM)
- Sometimes fails to remediate and attain results due to the type of contaminant or to the high level of contamination, as the biological agents will die from the high level of contamination in the soil
- Requires continuous turning of the soil and position change to keep the biological agents active and remediate all particles of the soil, requiring continuous effort and cost
- In high contamination levels, additional clean soil is contaminated; a process called “farming” which is mixing clean and contaminated soil together to decrease contamination levels and enable the biological agents to do their job more efficiently
- Results of successful remediation may take many years to be seen and to test positively, while the other methods take only days to give results
