HydroPro Case History

Hydro Carbon Remediation

The HydroPro process has been used to successfully treat over 100 projects. The HydroPro has been used in treatment ranges from tank bottom sludge’s, to oil field pits, to commercial pits, to class 1 injection wells, to simple contaminated soil sites. Listed below are few highlighted projects that HydroPro has successfully completed:

» Miami International Airport
Location: Miami, Florida, USA
Amount Treated: 100,000 tons of contaminated soil
Type of Contamination: Jet Fuel Spills
Description: The HydroPro system was used to remove all of the Jet Fuel contamination found in soil located on the Miami International Airport grounds. The treatment goal was the State of Florida Department of Environmental Resources Management clean fill criteria. The table below shows the results of the treatment.

» Morris J. Berman Barge (Dredge Contamination)
Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico
Amount Treated: 200,000 tons of contaminated sand
Type of Contamination: Oil spill treatment of ocean sand
Description: As a result of a barge going aground near San Juan, over 80,000 gallons of number 6-bunker oil was spilled into the ocean floor and washed up onto the beaches nearby. The HydroPro system was used to treat the contaminated soil on the beaches as well as extract as much oil possible to give back to the client. The contamination levels were reduced from an average of 6,000 ppm to less than 29 ppm, a total reduction of over 99%. One year after treatment was completed, a local marine biologist confirmed that the aquatic life in the treatment area was flourishing as normal.

» Wilton Planting Site
Location: Convent, Louisiana, USA
Amount Treated: 60 cubic yards of contaminated material
Type of Contamination: Oil contamination clay and silty clay
Description: The HydroPro was used to treat a site that contained a high moisture content of what was called “tractor fuel” which consisted of a contamination of gasoline, diesel fuel and kerosene products. There was also contamination of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene. The treatment results of this project are found in the table below.
